Circular Economy Data Platform

The data platform provides a consolidated single view from various sources on Circular Economy. It will support policy and decision making by various organisation involved in circular economy.

There are five stages of circular economy:

  1. Raw Material/ Resource Extraction – Raw materials are (designed to be) reused as long and intensive as possible over and over again. Waste is the new raw material in the circular economy.
  2. Production, Manufacturing – In the circular economy, the manufacturing industry’s role is to generate products and services that are profitable and to promote long-term sustainability. The goal is to find ways for elements of the used or discarded end-product to find their way back into the production process.
  3. Consumption/Use/Repair – Repair is an essential aspect of circular economy (CE) strategies to extend the life of products and materials.
  4. Waste Collection, Treatment and Recycling – Waste management includes the collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste together with monitoring and regulation.
  5. Residual Waste Management and Leakage – Residual waste is non-hazardous industrial waste. It is what remains when recyclable waste has been removed.
